On 25 March 2014, the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation organised a special event at the air base in Salon-de-Provence with the famous Swiss adventurers, Dr Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg, within the framework of its official partnership with the French Air Force, for the benefit of the youth of the Apprentis d’Auteuil Foundation from the southern France region and air cadets from the French Air Force Academy.

Piccard and Borschberg, both members of our Foundation’s patronage committee and pioneers of solar aviation, had the privilege of participating in a training flight with the famous Patrouille de France (PAF – French Acrobatic Patrol which is the world’s oldest and among the most skilled demonstration teams composed of the French Air Force’s elite pilots). Then, they gave an inspirational talk about their aeronautic adventures related to their fabulous project of flying around the world in their solar airplane, Solar Impulse, for the youth invited by our Foundation, who also had the opportunity to visit the air base and meet the elite pilots of the French Air Force – world champions of aerial acrobatics – on this extraordinary day.
