On 18 June 2014, Professor Marie-Paule Vazquez, Head of the Department of Paediatric Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery, and her nursing team welcomed the President of the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation, François d’Agay, Anne-Marie de Saint-Exupéry and Nicolas Delsalle-Mun, Secretary General of the Foundation, at Necker Hospital in Paris.

Since the very first collaboration between the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (Public Welfare-Paris Hospitals) and the Saint-Exupéry Foundation, an original decoration based on the theme of The Little Prince was created by the artist Caroline Duport at Trousseau Hospital in 2012 to offer a calming and joyful environment, a source of happiness and evasion, to children hospitalised in Professor Vazquez’s department, as well as to their families and the hospital staff.

Now transferred to the new Laennec building of Necker Hospital, this exemplary paediatric department asked the Foundation to support the creation of new frescoes based on the theme of The Little Prince for their young patients who appreciate the book and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s universal values.
